Hello, and welcome to the new month! This is a month of new starts. School has started again, crops are beginning to be harvested, fall flowers are beginning to bloom! So, what a wonderful time of year to discuss Herbology, whether it be about plants that can be used in medicines, poisonous plants, or just plants that you want to stare at for days; you can always learn more about Herbology when you open your Herbology textbook or even if you go and discuss it with Professor Longbottom. So, let's get discussing!
This month's forum spotlight is focused on the Dirigible Plums forum. This forum is where you can purchase and raise Dirigible Plums. You can only purchase them on Sundays, and then you must have them sold by Saturday. Once you purchase them, you need to water, feed, weed, fertilize, move them around, and then, by Saturday, you sell them. It is also one of the endeavours you need to complete. You need to purchase a plum and then complete a plum as part of the advanced endeavour. So, if you haven't completed this endeavour yet, make sure you are able to and head over to the Goblin City on Sunday and purchase your plum, then make sure you have it sold by Saturday.
This month's thread spotlight is focused on the thread "Are there any gardeners here?" thread. This thread is a good place to find fellow gardeners around the world. You can discuss your gardens, ask for help, and just have fun getting to know different ways of how people garden. If you want to learn more about gardening and some tricks and tips that others use, head on over to the "Are there any gardeners here?" thread and meet new people!
This month's item spotlight is focused on the Organic Potting Soil. This is one of the items that is needed when you want to grow a Dirigible Plum. You can purchase it from Luna's General Store. I really liked it when I was growing my plum as it was healthy and good for my plum. So, when you are aiming to grow something and want a good organic potting soil, head over to Luna's and purchase the Organic Potting Soil. You won't be sorry!
This month's quote is from Hermione Granger. It is "Stop moving, both of you. This is Devil's Snare! You have to relax. If you don't, it'll only kill you faster!" This quote is from the Sorcerer's Stone and is found when they get just past Fluffy. Once Harry and Ron dropped through the trapdoor that was beneath Fluffy, they were ensnared in the Devil's Snare. Hermione caught on quickly and realized that the boys needed to calm down and relax to survive the plant. After they did this, they both fell through beneath and were safe again.
This month's character spotlight is focused on Nevill Longbottom or Professor Longbottom. While in school, Neville was a bit shy and most often known as a clutz. But the one area he excelled in throughout the series was Herbology. And that helped when Harry needed assistance in the fifth book with the Gillyweed. And now, we know Nevill as Professor Longbottom, the new professor of Herbology. And I have to say, he knows his way around all magical plants. This month's holiday spotlight is focused on National Public Lands Day on September 28th. This holiday is celebrated annually at public lands in the United States on the fourth Saturday in September. It is a signature event of the National Environmental Education Foundation, as it promotes the enjoyment and volunteer conservation of public lands. I take this to mean that it educates us on how to take care of the flora and fauna that are in public parks and just all over in the wild.Well, there we have it. Another amazing discussion, this time about plants that we can grow in our yards! I am ready to get started next year on some new plants and I will make sure to have my Organic Potting Soil handy while I am working in the garden. And if I ever come across a nasty devil's snare, I know just what to do! I am going to rush off to my class, and I'm going to be taking notes as Professor Longbottom explains how to take care of more magical plants. Study hard and see you next month! Kali is signing off to get to class!
