Letter from the Editors
- a dragon, a feline, & a wolf

"Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future." - John F. Kennedy

Time never stops, does it, dear SOUP readers? No matter how much we may try to hold onto the precious moments that make us smile, they are always fleeting. Every day, we are drawn into something new, and the only way to keep moving forward is to embrace each and every hour with hope and good intentions. As the JFK said, we should always look ahead, as holding onto the past only makes our future more uncertain. So, for this issue of SOUP, we have taken a giant leap ahead and are investigating what the future holds for Wizardkind!

Unlike last month's groans and grumbles, our writers actually seemed moderately enthusiastic about our futuristic theme. There was more than a little talk of virtual reality, prophecies and careers, all of which gave us Editors hope for some unique and engaging submissions. We were not disappointed either! So why not grab yourself a seat in our SOUP-powered rocket train and launch into all the wonderful tales we have in store? We know you won't regret it!

To start your journey into the future, what better place than the past? Check out Wonderscape to see how that might work. It's a wonderful story combining the past and future! Next, you might want to delve into the Practicalities of Prophecies and the unique role that both Seers and Unspeakables play in our society. If pondering the future isn't your cup of tea, you might check out Lugh's Future Rant and see if you agree with his argument. If you'd like a bit of a mystery with your divination dealings, take a look at The Sekrit Adventures of Rita's Quick-Quotes Quill. And don't forget to stop by Legends Among Us 2.0 to celebrate our Slytherin heroes!

The future, be it Muggle or magical, is an absolute mystery. Merlin only knows what the younger generations will come up with. Despite Professor Trelawney's insistent owls, there is no real way to fully predict the future. So why not sit back and enjoy the ride with us? With a little hope and a lot of compassion we can make sure it's comfy and cozy for each of us and all those around us.

Be sure to leave some feedback over in the Common Room SOUP thread once you've finished for a participation Jewel! Go ahead and click the first article now!

Professor Trelawney said that Lugh's tea leaves held the Grim. There was also a prediction about Tabitha and some sort of duel but with Kneazles? Kalina won't budge when it comes to our requests about what the cards held for her future. We will keep digging to bring you those results! Don't forget to come back for the next issue of SOUP.
