Wonderscape
- Cissarose the Hobbit

Hello again everyone and welcome back to the hobbit library. You'll be pleased to know that Ellieanarose had me doing some reading before we went to the Farmers' Faire so I did have something to write about... or else you may not have had a book corner this month at all.

Wonderscape by Jennifer Bell tells the story of Arthur, Ren and Cecily and their adventures into the future after a seemingly innocent explosion at a neighbour's house transports them onto the Principia ship where they come face to face with Issac Newton. Yes THAT Issac Newton before you ask and discover that they have basically stepped into a giant game of survival. I cannot begin to imagine how they must have felt as they were just three kids on the way to school and now they're 400 years in the future with only each other for support. They must have felt so alone.

Faced with a VR game the three have to work together to pass the challenges and find and rescue heroes that that been captured by Valeria and Tiburon who are two of the founders to the game. Their brother, Milo, has gone missing and part of the game is to try and find him.

I have to admit that the idea sounded really great and, as time went on, I loved seeing Arthur, Cecily and Ren beginning to form a friendship as they were thrown together as strangers trying to help save a dog... at least that's what he appeared to be. Cloud was Milo's pet who was sent away and can change form. He has been sent away for the pure reason is that he has something that Valeria and Tiburon must not be allowed to get their hands on or else it could spell disaster for everyone in the past and future.

I really love the way the three come together and work together to solve puzzles and challenges to save the heroes and stop Valeria and Tiburon and get back to their own time before they are turned to goo. The book taught me that friends can come from the most unlikely places and, depending on what you go through, become firm friends as well.

I found the book gripping as well and there was a nice pace to it which allowed me to want to carry on reading it as I wasn't bored at all when reading it. I really enjoyed the whole theme of it and it's something that I've never read before and that was fun as well.

Anyway that's enough of my rambling and Briellerose should be back next month.

Lots of love,
Cissarose xx
