Joy in Middle Earth
- Eowara of Rohan

Eowara had had enough of socialising at Aragorn and Arwen's wedding. The stars were up and she slipped out of the open doors of Merethrond, the Feasting Hall and slipped into the Guesthouse to retrieve her notebook and a quill. She headed to the pow and found a spot looking the mountains that, only a few months previously, had contained thousands of orcs loyal to Sauron. She thought about her emotions and began to write.

The joy of the darkness fading
Is one I cannot describe.
It is rather overwhelming
But I am happy to see it.

The dark times have passed
The Age of Man will be beginning
The Fourth Age of Middle Earth
The time for joy is here.

The wedding of Aragorn and Arwen
Is something I never thought I'd see
Neither did I think
The sun would yet shine again.

The sun does indeed shine again
And joy is felt once more.
I cannot deny it
Because I have longed for it.

There wasn't much joy
For such a long time.
There was only darkness
And fear all the time.

The wedding brings
A new time
And so much joy
For Gondor and Rohan too.

A new era has begun
The darkness has gone.
Joy and sunshine
Are the dominant emotions.

I cannot wait to see
What will happen in the future
But one thing is for sure
The darkness has been lifted.

Eowara sighed as she finished writing, content with what she'd written. Socialising all night was not her thing so the escape had been well needed. She looked over at the mountains and sighed. The evil was gone and joy had returned to the hearts of everyone.
