Our beloved editors chose a super easy theme for this month -birthdays. One would think that no one would have any trouble at all figuring out a way to tie into celebrations, parties, and birthdays. Right? Well, they'd be wrong. I was all set to put quill to parchment and churn out a commentary on birthdays and galas. But that simply sent me down a rather sorrowful path of missteps and miscalculations.
I am the world's worst party planner. I mean it. The absolute worst. Every single time I have tried to tailor a surprise party to someone special I have failed dismally. I just cannot seem to get it right. Things are too fancy and overdone for one and then too casual and simple for another. I guess I don't really know my friends as well as I thought I did. Or maybe I'm just trying too hard. Either way, my pity party of one was bringing me down so I decided a bit of fresh air would be good for me. So outside I went, into the Forbidden Forest for a short stroll. But don't tell the professors! I swear I won't be too long!
The deeper in the trees I get, the better I feel. Perhaps there really is something to the whole 'walks are good for mental health' thing. Lugh was just showing me some videos on TikTok the other day where some people mentioned they were 'going on a stupid walk for their stupid mental health'... I think they were trying to be funny. I didn't get it then and I'm still not quite sure I get it now. Either way the green leaves, gentle breezes, and wild creatures -nothing as dire as an Acromantula or Centaur- are lifting my spirits. So many flowers and plants are in the height of their blooms and their fragrances are permeating the air all around me.
I'm kind of tired and quite frankly utterly unsure of where I am currently located... so I shall stop here for now and hope that I see you all again next month!
