Hogwarts Express

Crowds rushing around on a platform
Pushing, shoving, pulling
Parents yelling out to children
Younger siblings crying
As a train whistle pierces the air

Grab another compartment, this one's full
Load your trunk and owl cage
Then hang out the window
Waving your goodbyes
As the train slowly pulls away

Find your friends and your enemies
Chatting, reading, patrolling
Friends catching up after the summer
Rushing through last-minute homework
As the landscape speeds by

Change into your robes, almost there
Fidget as you sit in the compartment
Or stroll down the corridor one last time
Making plans to meet up later
While Hogsmeade comes into view

As the train slows down, excitement bubbles
The day passing quickly by
Leave your trunk behind for now
From the Express grab a carriage or boat
And smile as Hogwarts welcomes you home
