Cursed Child Critiques
- Slytherin Bean

Hello SOUPerstar Readers, welcome to Ranting and Raving with the Slytherin Bean! As you are all well aware, this month's theme is theater! My mind instantly went to Broadway, musicals in specific, but Broadway is more than just musicals, there are phenomenal Broadway plays as well! That brings us to this month's topic of Ranting and Raving - Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Now, it's no secret that Cursed Child is very controversial in the HP fandom, but please take this advice to heart - whether you've read the script more than once or refuse to accept it as canon, I highly believe that every single Harry Potter fan should see it at least once. I know I have some people rolling their eyes as they read this and are mumbling to themselves 'I will never, I refuse', but let me tell you something - THIS IS BROADWAY WE ARE TALKING ABOUT! Broadway is not to be taken lightly here folks!

As you can probably tell by now, I have indeed seen Cursed Child in person, more than once actually! There are so many tricks, wonders, and effects that truly push the limits of Broadway plays. If you are someone who finds plays to be boring, keep in mind that this is Harry Potter that we are talking about, even though it is a stage adaptation, there is still lots of magic throughout the entire show.

I can not express enough in this article how wonderful this play is; even if you don't want to appreciate the script, you have to appreciate it on a theatrical level. There are so many amazements and surprises throughout the show to keep you on the edge of your seat. Even my own mother who is not a Harry Potter fan (boo) found it to be phenomenal and wishes to see it again.

So I don't care what your general opinion is on the script, start saving up your money and begin planning your trip to see Cursed Child live!
