"All the world's a stage..."
At least that's the opinion of playwright William Shakespeare, not to mention your intrepid trio of Editors. And what better way to celebrate the first anniversary of SOUP's regeneration than to treat our staff to a wonderful outing to the theatre? What could possibly go wrong???
Famous last words. In the utter chaos of arranging tickets, transportation, deviations, last-minute substitutions, late arrivals, and irate tourists, we forgot one or two minor details, like the actual assignment list. Minor to us editors, perhaps, but it threw our writers into rather a frenzied whirlwind of confusion. Not only that, but once the wayward paper was duly retrieved from a crumpled heap in the bottom of Dragon's second-best satchel, where it bore the unmistakable signs of water damage and chocolate smears, it was basically illegible. As a result, parts of this issue are more topsy-turvy than normal. Still, when all was said and done, our writers came through brilliantly. So come spend an evening of entertainment at The Theatre with us!
For an overture, why not cue up the Monthly Playlist and get yourself in the mood for an evening of entertainment? In the first act, you can sample the HEX Spotlights and see what's going on around the site. For a bit of artistic endeavor, don't miss Theatre Calls and Cursed Child Critiques - that will carry through to intermission! While you're waiting for the second act to start, stop by Pumpkin Performances for some lovely refreshments. Act Two is more interactive. You can flex your creative muscles in The Masquerading Masque, have a bit of fun with SOUPerlatives, and flex your little grey cells with this month's Puzzling Things. There's even a bit of surrealism from Rita's quick-quotes quill in Sekrit Adventures! To round out your evening, relax with an entertaining interview in Legends Among Us.
After such a dramatic outing, some of our writers seem to have hidden under their beds or crawled off to their caves to recover in a bit of much-needed peace and quiet. Now that the final curtain has fallen on this month's performance, you can sit back, relax and enjoy the matinees while we try and coax our reluctant writers back into the SOUP offices for our next issue. We hope you love this issue just as much as we Editors do! So hurry and check it out!
