Chaotic Colours
- Kylee Dragonsgleam

"Walking through a massive wrought iron gate and under the sign that says Dragon's Ranch, you are greeted by some wondrous sights. To the left and right you see a gigantic wrought iron fence that stretches as far as the eye can see. Before you stands a human-half dragon. As she begins to introduce herself, you hear thundering roars from the nearby dragons, all in their fantastical enclosures that stretch away to the horizon like magic."

Hello again, and welcome back to Dragons Ranch; my name is Kylee Dragonsgleam. We have a Common Welsh Green Dragon named Oizail, a Swedish Short-Snout named Chyzor, a Romanian Longhorn named Pymru, and a Ukrainian Ironbelly named Jalbur.

I can't wait to tell you about the Halloween bash we had last month here at the Dragon Ranch. What a chaotic mess for the humans and a blast for the Dragons. We Decorated the communal enclosure, so all the Dragons could enjoy the festivities. There were different coloured streamers hung around the enclosure, big balloons, the size of dogs, everywhere, and painted pumpkins strategically placed throughout the place.

The Dragons looked on with interest as the decorations went up the day before the party. Initially, they were quite upset and not being able to socialize with their friends in their communal space. After explaining to them that we were setting up the Halloween party, they settled right down. Chyzor was especially excited because some of the guests were his favourite people, the SOUP staff. All the dragons were excited; Chyzor was just a bit overwhelmed with excitement. He was racing around at top speed and Chanting (friends come play) at the top of his lungs, along with a good, well-placed roar here and there. Pymra Just lay at the entrance to the area and watched the hustle and bustle throughout the day, as did Oizail. Jalbur, on the other hand, kept roaring his displeasure about everything changing (I don't like change, put it back, NOW!!!). What a commotion he was making.

So just before the guests began to arrive, we let Chyzor, Pymru, Oizail, and Jalbur into the massive decorated enclosure to investigate and get their bearings as it was dusk, so everything was starting to look different than it had in the daylight. Shadows were starting to grow along the ground, and it appeared that the well-placed mannequins were coming to life. The pumpkins that were covered in glow-in-the-dark paint were starting to cast a glow. It was quite the perfect ambience setting for a Halloween Bash.

Guests started to arrive, and the staff were excited to see almost everyone come at once; of course, it helped that most of the guest list was coming straight from the SOUP offices. All of a sudden, people started screaming and laughing at one of the dragon's antics. Of course, Chyzor was at the centre of the excitement. He had plucked the purple streamer down and was running in circles and then took off and flew circles around and above everyone.

On the other side of the enclosure, I heard cackling and laughter. Looking around, I saw Pymru and Oizail just mingling the best they could with the guests, however, I couldn't see Jalbur. Sprinting over to the other side of the party. What a sight to behold! The dragon was gathering every pumpkin that wasn't orange and placing them in a pile. As I looked closer, I saw what I'm pretty sure was straw at the bottom of the pile. I stood watching his antics for a moment before springing into action. What was funny was about to become a dangerous situation if I didn't put a stop to his behaviour. Jalbur was planning on setting fire to the pile of pumpkins. Getting his attention with a shout of his name. (What in the ever-living dragons are you doing?) He looked at me with the most pitiful look he had ever used. (I don't like pumpkins that aren't orange. It's just not natural.) Laughing, I looked at him and shook my head (OK, bud, we will make them Orange again.) So taking out my wand with a point and a wave, the pumpkins all became Orange again.

Let me tell you the first part of the party was a bit chaotic; however, the second part went off without a hitch, thank the dragons above.

- Until next time this is Kylee Dragonsgleam and the dragons bidding you adieu.
