Legends Among Us
- By: Salazia Hi, it's Shoelace now!

Oh, hello there! Were you here to see the Legends writer? I'm sorry, she's not in today. But don't mind me, have a seat will you? Pick an article to read. Hot off the press, the fresh ink smells delightful, doesn't it? Oh, terribly sorry, I'm being so rude aren't I? Hello everyone, I'm Shoelace, the resident nagging snake. Everyone's favorite snake. Shhh, don't tell Khan and Baby I said that.

Today, I've taken over Legends Among Us! Well, I mean, I'm kinda a legend in the house. Wait, I am still a legend, right? Ah, no matter. Well today snakelings, we will be discussing things we are grateful for. So let's get started shall we?

I, myself, am grateful for all of you snakes. Especially these two lovelies. Deidra and Yesa. They welcomed me back from my long journey across the wizarding world. So, maybe thank them for bringing you a nagging Shoelace? Before those two, I've traveled with Merlin and Salazar.

I remember it like it was only yesterday! I was very cramped up in this little, tight prison. One day, I kept trying to stretch out to no avail. With a rather loud "CRACK" the prison gave way to my freedom. When I emerged from the egg, there he was: Salazar Slytherin. He spoke so softly for such a wicked looking man, such intense eyes. He was like a father to me.

For the first few months of my life I stayed in his office. During that time, I spent hours each day combing through his books. I had an ambition to learn and aid in his teachings. Salazar was a brilliant teacher after all. But I'm sure most of you know that. The school year was over before I got to join him. Which, I didn't mind at all. It gave me more time to study.

During the summer, we traveled. His quest for students lead us into some beautiful places. His home lands were my favorite. Though, the summer didn't last long and we returned from handing potential students their acceptance parchments. One young boy in particular caught my eye. As the Sorting Hat was placed on his head, I couldn't stop whispering to Salazar how he belonged with us. Merlin was so shy, but I could see he needed encouragement. So, I told Salazar to trust me and he did. You already know where he was placed.

As Merlin sat amongst a sea of emerald, I slithered my way over. He seemed scared at first but soon came around. He was the first student I ever nagged. Can you imagine in my youth how terrible that must have been? I followed him where the other Professor's would allow. Rowena knew I was aiding her cause in my journey. She even requested my presence on occasion. I knew if she approved, I had most definitely found my mission in life.

Over the years, after the Founders were gone, I drifted away. I'd decided to travel once more, keeping an eye on my little snake Heirs. I'd heard of Khan coming out to play and missed him so much. Once I arrived, everything had changed. Both Khan and Baby seemed ... off. They'd met a young man. I felt no connection to him, besides being of my father's blood. He eventually had a snake of his own that I thought would look after him. We snakes have a duty to the memory of him. I, personally, honor it. Well, he changed her as well. Nagini was so sweet and caring. She was different, a Maledictus.

Hmm, well, as you all know what happened from that point ... I'll stop there for today. Maybe you can come back with questions for me? I'd love to answer them!

But before you go, have you finished your homework? Do your homework snakes! Make Salazar proud!

-With nagging love,
Shoelace

P.S - I'll think about letting you have your usual writer back! Bwahaha! Okay, my evil laugh needs improvement
