Crafty Corner

Gobble, gobble, y'all!

November is definitely one of my favorite months, and no, it's not because Daylight Savings Time happens to be on November 2nd this year… though it is awesome to get that extra hour of sleep. Nope, I love November because November means Thanksgiving!

Now, I should be a good little girl and say that Thanksgiving truly means more to me than just turkey. It's a holiday to celebrate family, to celebrate friends, to celebrate the bounty of a fruitful harvest and…

Yeah, well… Thanksgiving means turkey. And for this month's edition of the Crafty Corner, Thanksgiving also means:

Turkey Placemats!

Of course, if you're feeling lazy from all the turkey-goodness and only want to make one of these bad boys, it could serve as a decorative centerpiece for your delicious-food-laden table. Each completed place setting will measure about 18 inches (45.5 cm) in diameter. For supplies, you will need:

* Main Color (MC) (01130 Warm Brown) 1 ball
* A (02013 Terra Firma) 1 ball
* B (01612 Country Yellow) 1 ball
* Size 5 mm (U.S. H or crochet hook
* Small amount of black yarn for eye embroidery.

I used the "Sugar ’n Cream Brand" of yarn, but you can use anything that suits your fancy.
