Lugh's Bubblepinion
- Lugh Hughes

Bubbles are amazing. And I don't just say that because they can float, although that's pretty magnificent in its own way. But bubbles themselves have hidden wonders that most people don't even think about.

First, have you ever taken a really close look at a regular soap bubble? Tiny prisms, all of them. They sparkle with every color there is, and yet, at the same time, they're so clear that you can see through them. And that's even without using any magic at all! They're so thin, too - thinner than the smallest blade of grass or the strand of string mints from Honeydukes. Thin and light enough to balance on top of anything, but they do puncture quite easily that way. Sad, that. I'm still working on how to make them strong as well as thin and pliable.

Next, there are charmed bubbles that are pretty amazing. I'm thinking of two in particular. The more common one is the ol' Bubblehead Charm. I think that one is super fun, but maybe that's because I enjoy visiting the Giant Squid - and sometimes that creature really doesn't know its own strength. So it's helpful to have that charm at the ready in case I get swamped or pulled under!

Finally, there's a second charm - and that's really the one I want to rave about today. It's the most impressive bubble that I know. The problem is, I really have no idea what charm it is or how to perform it - at least, it wasn't taught for O.W.L.s, and I've not yet come across it in N.E.W.T. classes. So instead of telling you what it is, I just have to describe its effects. This bubble isn't for swimming, although it may have some features in common with the Bubblehead Charm. It's also not just for your head. In fact, I'd wager it's not really meant for humans at all. I've only ever heard about it being in use for creatures and non-sentient entities.

Like an Obscurus.

Shhh. I don't want anyone to know, but I'm super keen on understanding how that rogue magic works. Oh, I don't want to use or abuse it the way Gellert Grindelwald might have wanted to, and I really don't wish it on anyone. But even so - after having read part of Newt Scamander's biography, I have lots of questions. However, the main one isn't really about Obscurials or Obscuruses (or is it Obscuri?) It's the bubble they are safely contained in that intrigues me the most!

That is like some extremely cool combination of a Bubblehead Charm, a Cone of Silence, and a... a... oh, shoot. What's the Muggle term? A biosphere? A self-contained mini-world, I guess. Just think of the possibilities! With a BioBubble, I could maybe experiment with my fireworks in a safe manner instead of making Kalina annoyed! Or I could help rescue things from teasing and keep them safe! Or.. oh, bother. I'm starting to sound like an idiot. Or a professor. Ew.

Well, anyway. Bubbles are super-cool!
