Hello and welcome to our Legends Among Us 2.0 article here in the SOUP Offices. We have decided to turn our outer offices into a makeshift gallery of sorts for your viewing pleasure! Each month we shall endeavor to bring you delightful works from your fellow snakes who have been honored with our monthly awards across our various subforums.
So without further ado I invite you to join me at this month's gallery opening! First up, we have our beloved Heir of Slytherin for the month of April 2023, Ninavv !
Hi everyone! I'm Nina. I'm so excited to have been picked to be Heir of Slytherin this month. Thank you to those who nominated me ♥ I'm the proud co-leader of the Cheer SKWAD. I keep myself busy with contests on HEX and I enjoy chatting during events! I'm more on the quiet side, but you can always send me an owl to chat! I keep myself busy IRL with my two lease horses, reading, watching series, school, and occasionally writing. I'm going to be an elementary school teacher. Concerts are my weakness, I have six planned for the coming year and there's bound to be a lot more added to that list. I've seen over fifty-five bands live in the past eight years. I have many more hobbies but I won't bore you with listing all of them. Like I said, feel free to send an owl whenever. I don't bite, promise!
Next, we move on to our Snakelet of the Month for April, LilyRosemeryMalfoy!
Hey guys! My name is LilyRosemery (Malfoy). I joined HEX 2 months ago! I'm very honored to be awarded Snakelet of the Month! I drew this piece of artwork a few weeks ago. I have a 'potions notebook' for potion ingredients and potion drawings. I drew Felix Felicis because it is one of my favourite potions. Everyone needs a bit *a lot haha* of luck sometimes, so here's yours! (I think I was fine with potions because Snape was the professor, but now umm...) Anyways, lovely being in Slytherin House, and with this amount of luck I hope we can win the house cup this year! We can do it Snakessss! Cheers, LilyRosemeryMalfoy
Our next shining snake comes to us as the winner of our Industrious Snake award for April, AdeleTheHobbit!
Goodbye, and Thank You, Your Majesty
The news came through that you were seriously ill
Time stood still, a nation... no the world... held its breath.
Glued to the news and praying for the best
Despite the signs all signaling the worst.
Your family arrived and fears grew
No news should mean good news, right?
Not in this case, the fears grew.
Minutes felt like days, hours like months.
Then the Palace announced your passing,
The nation cried, grief overwhelming.
Change is in the air, one that nobody ever wanted
But now it's here: the dreaded moment.
God Save the Queen becomes God Save the King
Elizabeth the Second becomes Charles the Third.
A nation turned upside down
Filled with grief and sadness.
It's the end of an era with your passing.
Your life of service is over.
You can be reunited with some of your family
And the rest will honour you.
The world is mourning your loss
You've been the one constant in this ever-changing world
And now you're gone, a constant light gone out
Now to become a star up above.
Thank you for over 70 years of service
For all you've done for the UK, Commonwealth, and the world
All that is left to do is say
Thank you, Your Majesty, for everything, you will never be forgotten
How about we hop on over to an offering from the winner of our Community Hero award for April, Alanna Delacour!
Since becoming more active again on HEXRPG, I've really pushed myself creatively in different areas where I normally never bothered. Lately, I've gotten into digital drawing and I've made it a goal that every time I draw something; I try a new feature. This time I tried to figure out how to draw bubbles and draw from a reference for the snake. I'm pretty happy with the result!
I think I can speak for all of us in saying that we wholeheartedly thank each of these brave souls for sharing a bit of themselves with us! Artwork in every form is usually something quite personal to each of us. We here at SOUP absolutely send our deepest gratitude and love to each of these amazing people!
Join me next month as we take a deeper dive into our next award winners in the noble house of Slytherin! This is your resident feline Editor, signing off as it's time for a cat nap!
