Here at SOUP we hired two much-needed writers for the publication. Nox and Nina are two wonderful additions to the office, so I decided to make them each a welcome-to-SOUP gift. Bubble-stitch lap blankets. They are going to keep them warm at work as the offices can get a bit drafty in the fall and winter. Nox had mentioned in passing that their office was very chilly, so that gave me the idea for the blankets. Then when we found out the theme our lovely editors thought would be fun, I decided to combine the two. Why not use the bubble stitch pattern that I had just learned from my lovely grandmother, who was just a dear, to teach me how to knit. I was going to make lap blankets.
Bubble Stitch Pattern Construction- Bottom-Up: This stitch is created from the bottom up.
- Texture Design: Since we're cinching up our stitches, this pattern is a lot like a loose bobble stitch. It is gathered and textured with - the Knit 4 Below technique.
- Stitch Repeats: The texture is created with a simple repeat of 12 rows.
- Colorwork: Knit up in just one color, two yarn colors, or as many as you'd like.
- Not Reversible: This is not a reversible pattern, because the pattern is visible only on the right side of your work.
This Bubble Knit Stitch Pattern is three-dimensional, has a lot of texture, and is totally addictive to knit up!
