It should come as no surprise that Hansel and Gretel are Gemini's. They are twins, after all. Most of us know them best as two greedy children who were so enamoured with gingerbread that they nearly found themselves killed by an evil witch.

Now, you would think this would be enough to keep them out of this situation, but in this case you would be WRONG! Even after a foray into grave danger which nearly got them both killed, their love for the sweet drove them forward on their constant quest for a delicious treat. In fact, I imagine you could say that gingerbread made up their entire world as far as important things go. And trust me, there have been a lot more occasions where this has happened than just this one.

There was a new gingerbread shop opening and they were giving away free samples. Hansel and Gretel, being the intrepid pair that they are, showed up at the shop wearing their pale blue shirts with gingerbread men emblazoned on them as the main decoration.

"Hurry up!" Hansel urged his sister, who had taken a glance into a shop which specialized in hair bows. "The place is straight ahead!" He pointed with excitement as Gretel raced to catch up.

They had nearly made it all the way when an evil witch stepped in front of them and offered to escort them across the street. Naturally, there didn't seem to be anything sinister about this woman, as she was used to dealing mainly with children in her evil doings. "Yay, gingerbread!" Hansel exclaimed. It was the favorite treat of both of them, after all. (As one discovered after about ten seconds.) They began to run as the witch made a fiendish grab for them.

Somehow they managed to make it to the shop, and the witch began to throw a fit of frustration and rage. They plunked all their money on the counter and received three paper bags back filled with their favorite sweet treat (as I said, they really loved gingerbread).

Nothing had ever tasted as sweet to them, and they savored the delicious taste in their mouths as long as they could, wanting it to last.

"You know, that was the best gingerbread I've ever eaten," Hansel said with a grin.

"It really was," Gretel answered. "It's like it was custom made just for us or something."

"I was thinking the same thing," Hansel admitted. "We went through a lot to get it, and I kind of think we ought to savor it as long as we can."

"Yeah, we should get a lot more of it so we have it on stock," Gretel agreed, "This place is dangerous and we don't want to risk ourselves trying to get more with that crazy witch around."

Hansel nodded, and the pair bought four more large bags. They had so much gingerbread now that they were puffing and blowing from carrying it so far. They rushed quickly, wanting to avoid any further trouble, then tore open the bags and began to eat heartily the moment they reached the entrance to their house. They filled their hands with the sweets and proceeded to stuff it in their mouths.

"Definitely worth all the trouble," Hansel declared as Gretel nodded her head. There was nothing they loved more than gingerbread and they didn't think there ever could be. Even if they were adults and married, the gingerbread would still come in first in their eyes. When you love something, that's just how it is.
