Mr. Fashionista

by Nicole & Tyler

Hello my dearest darling readers!

I know, I know! You've all been weeping and crying and wallowing in self pity without my INCOMPARABLE fashion advice. But I'm back sweet muffins (and not only because I saw some truly heinous fashions plaguing the common room, though, let's be real... for that very reason). I had to do a bit of soul searching recently. Travelled around, picked up some crafts, bought a house. You know, the usual. And I'm back just in time for spring. You're welcome in advance.

After traipsing around fashion week, stalking designer after designer, I found it. My inspiration for this month: florals. It just...hit me. It was the first day of spring recently, the weather spiked in heat, trees bloomed, and a shit ton of inspect spawned into existence seemingly overnight! The latter fact didn't inspire as much as it did annoy. (Check out next month's mosquito-net gowns!)

The air was alive with the thrumming of nature de-thawing and critters buggering about. Heaps and heaps of flowers and blooms sprouted up out of nowhere and I knew my calling this season. Florals.

While most agree that florals are a pivotal part of spring, others tend to shy away from it, citing it as "overdone" and "are we really doing that repetitious codswallop again?!" and my answer is simply, "yes".

What else brings someone such joy than seeing a pastel palette print that invokes not only a vintage feel but a warm, springy feel as well? I surely love it. In fact, I'll be using floral wallpaper on the outside of my house - gotta think outside the box!

So, floral what, you might be asking? Floral everything. Floral pants, blazers, shirts, SHOELACES! Floral. It. UP! There's no such thing as going overboard! Gaudy is the new subtle! Express yourself. Wear floral print eyelashes for crying out loud. Just have fun. Fun ideas are juxtaposing the pastel floral with neon colors to really make things pop. Alternatively, grays and other solids will help the focal point stand out more in your wardrobe.

Either way, just have fun with it. Fashion is whatever you want to wear. There's no rules to fashion except that one about white and labor day. Oh, and don't wear denim on denim. Maybe stop buying real fur coats. Zebra print never helped anyone out. But other than those! Just wing it!

Well my little pastries, that's all of my fashion lesson for today. Please take this time to return all the faux fur jackets you all stole out of my closet during my absence. Otherwise, I'll have you hunt you all down.

Until next time,
Mr. Fashionista
