Chatting With...
By nicole2013
Come one, come all. This month we have a fabulous interview with a fabulous Slytherin. During the short time that I've been at SOUP, I've noticed that there is one person who seems to keep the staff on their toes, myself included. Her determination keeps everyone going. She never lets us get away with being lazy, well, except for the monthly we-published-a-new-issue party. Anyways, I'm talking about none other than Pansy Parkinson! With her busy schedule, it was hard to arrange a time for an interview, but I managed.
Of course, I was a little bit nervous as I sat in my comfortable desk chair at the SOUP HQ as I waited for her presence. This was only my second interview, and I decided that it should be somewhat serious since Pansy is an important part of the Slytherin house. Thankfully, I wasn't able to dwell on my nervousness-she was a couple minutes early, which is to be expected. Pansy is a timely person.
"What made you want to be a part of SOUP?" I started out the interview with something we both had in common, making it only a bit easier on myself.
"We all have to start our path to fame and fortune somewhere, right?" Her answer came flowing, which was a sign to me that she had some experience with interviews, but why wouldn't she? Being so popular...
"Right, right. You're such a great advice columnist. I think everyone wants to know, how do you come up with such great advice?"
"I am just exceptionally talented, smart, and have a vast amount of valuable life experience. Wouldn't you agree?" It was such a Pansy-like answer, really.
"Of course, I agree," I paused, what next? What next? "So, what keeps you motivated?"
"First and foremost, I am a Slytherin. My ambition is what keeps me motivated. You don't get to the top by being lazy. Being the best takes work, and that is what keeps me going. I keep my eyes on the prize."
"That was very well said." And definitely the reason we're not allowed to be lazy at SOUP; Pansy does not tolerate our laziness. "You're a true Slytherin. Who is your favorite, besides yourself?"
"Besides myself? Salazar Slytherin, of course! Without him, we'd all be stuck being a Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or worse, a Gryffindor." You could see disgust in her face towards the end as she spoke. I don't blame her!
"Yuck! That'd be horrible. We should all be thankful for Salazar Slytherin." I was shaking my head in agreement with her.
"Let's know more about you. What's your happiest memory?"
"My happiest memory would be when I bought my favorite pair of green pumps. Without those green pumps, I would not have had as much confidence in myself, and would not have done as fabulously at my interview at SOUP -or met my wife. Also, those pumps make me look ridiculously gorgeous." Oooh, this was news.
"A wife? Who is the lucky lady?" I asked, feeling more like Tyler and Lu, getting the 'scoop'. I've never been one to keep up with events.
"Why, our own lovely Editor-in-Chief, Alisha!" She answered with a true smile, even reaching her eyes!
"Well, what would she say is your best feature?"
"Being a Slytherin like myself, she fell in love with my ambition. Though, she's also very fond of my stunningly good looks."
"That makes a lot of sense. Hm, we don't have much time left, so a question to wrap it up. What do you do in your free time, if you get any?"
"I go shopping! You can never have enough shoes!" Pansy, probably unconsciously, looked down at her lovely green pumps, most likely remembering when she got them.
"Shoes are quite the necessity!" I agreed with her, "Thank you so much for the interview!"
I have to say that my inner fangirl definitely pushed away my nervousness that was present at the beginning of the interview. It was a lot of fun chatting with Pansy. Now we all know more about her, and I got the opportunity to say more to her than just the normal 'hello' and 'goodbye' when going to and from the SOUP HQ. But Deidra needn't worry, I've no intention on stealing her wonderful wife...I'm content with being a fan, as we all should be, if I have any say in it.
Hopefully you've enjoyed this! Have any suggestions on who should be interviewed? Owl me!
See you next month, loves!
