News and Noteworthy Events

Lucky for you all, your two favorite writers have managed to survive this total Pansy takeover thus far! (And by survive, we mean that we've taken up a small refuge in Pansy's colossal closet. She hasn't reached this part in days and we've been living off of truffles and rain water. Who knew her closet was so enormous it had its own weather?) Anyways, she just couldn't overtake this article — something about not wanting to ruin the best article in the publication and how Lu and Tyler being just WAY too fashionable to exist while she did. Days before her full scale invasion she kept mumbling something about ruining the best article in SOUP, fortunately for us, she did not have the time to really pay attention to anyone but her wife, Alisha. We don't know what all went down in SOUP HQ, so we're just bring you guys the news.
First of all, we just have to report about the late April Fool's joke from the HEX staff. We like to keep a running record of past pranks to educate the masses! The entire website was purportedly downsized into ONE forum due to a "lack of money". Every common room/forum/and classes were assigned a single thread, and you just couldn't get into your Gringott's vault to shop! Total madness!
The Slytherin staff also had a few tricks up their sleeves and dorm access was totally switched! The conditions resulted in a huge mess to clean up all the vandalism the dorms were given. Pink dragons were spray painted onto the roof of the Boys' Dorm and we're fairly sure we know who did it CONFESS ALREADY, OANA. Rumor also had it that Ted walked around for three days with purple glitter infused with his hair from the pillows the ladies flung at him to get back to their own dorm. Ted, honey, that isn't a spring color! You should go for a pastel glitter if you want to stand out in next week's fake fashion show!
This prank led into an mini event in Slytherin. The InterDorm event was a fight for the Iron Thrones of the dorms. We all were given access to enter both dorms and allowed to compete in several fun activities, including a crazy trivia assignment (which was a total blast from the past). The winners of the contest new royalty of the dorms got some quality prizes and access to the opposite dorm for an entire month! We don't like to brag — wait, yes we do — the winners of the throne ultimately were none other than yours truly! Trulies? Whatever. Regardless, it was us who won. Yes, Tyler and Lu, yours truly. The dynamic duo of SOUP. Yup. We will accept bowing and gifts.
And the staff still wasn't finished there! They then threw a totally awesome restock event based on mythical creatures, where users could be sorted as a type of legendary being. Amazing, once in a HEXtime items, people, and graphics were all auctioned off and sold for the benefit of the House's future. Users of other houses were able to buy into our amazing common room and dorms, though we're pretty sure Adam had some midnight snacks, since we didn't see too many of them.
And in other news, our very own Shaya Mason (SOUP graphics designer, member of the site's graphics management team and a great member of the house) is also a totally awesome singer, which we have learned through his success in HEX Idol 5! We also want to give a congratulatory shout out to Desemine, dollgoddess, SLYannique, and Xeneixian for also bringing home some house point in HEX Idol! You go, guys!
We'd also like to report that for a while, we fell behind in house points. We're like approximately 100% sure that was a definitely fluke in coding and that won't happen again, because we know you're doing your homework. You better be doing your homework and entering every single contest, Slytherins... or else we'll sic Pansy on you all!
