- She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named

Legends. Myths. Folklore. So many things have been lost in the passage of time. This month I'd like to bring a few Celtic creatures back into focus by doing something totally important like comparing them to Harry Potter characters... that sounds legit, right? Find a comfy seat and some snacks; let's go on a journey together!

- Banshee: Let's start with a familiar one. This person has a powerful yet frightening voice, they are not afraid of the spotlight and being heard.

Ginny Weasley

- Leprechaun: Yet another familiar to us all. This person can be a bit mischievous and tricky; they are not to be trusted.

Mundungus Fletcher

- Pooka: Terrifyingly mischievous horses, anyone? This person sneaks about wreaking as much havoc as possible; they have an easy time talking people into things.

Sirius Black

- Merrow: Celtic variant of mermaids. This person is at home no matter where they are; they are able to adapt to their surroundings quite easily, thanks to help from 'magical clothes'.

Ignotus Peverell

- Far Darrig: A terrifying little creature who kidnaps people in burlap sacks. This person is a real nightmare; they have a hideous laugh and are out to cause harm.

Bellatrix Lestrange

- Dullahan: The Irish Headless Horseman. This person roams about at night, looking for death and harming those around them.

Antonin Dolohov

- Abhartach: An Irish dwarf tyrant, much like a vampire. This person rose from his grave to terrorize people; they are out for blood.

Lord Voldemort

- Fear Gorta: The Irish version of zombies. This person is much more than they appeared; they taught people around them to always be kind, even to those who seem unappealing.

Luna Lovegood

- Kelpie: Another familiar creature, yes? This person is insanely beautiful yet deadly, they draw others in so easily and send them to their doom.

Narcissa Malfoy

- Daoine Maithe: Fairy Folk. This person is good and kind-hearted; tread carefully as they can be vengeful if mistreated.

Molly Weasley

- Sluagh: Ghosts that are said to be the souls of dead sinners. This person is out to kill you and steal your soul; they prefer those who are easy targets.

What do YOU think? Have I gotten them right, or do you think that someone else more readily personifies one of these Celtic creatures? Come tell us how awful I did over in our SOUP thread in the Common Room.
