The Roaring Twenties are so named because it was a time of exuberance. A time when people indulged in new styles of dress and dance and rejected the more traditional moral standards. Nothing seemed to be able to stop the roar - nothing except Black Tuesday. To many people, October 29, 1929 would be burned in their minds as the beginning of the end of what they came to know. Spiraling into the Great Depression and a decade long economic downturn, the Roaring Twenties went out the same way they came in - roaring. Perhaps it is these moments in history that we should look back on and take the perseverance of people as inspiration now. As always we ask that you head on over to our thread in the Common Room to let us know what your favorite article was!
Until next time,
