Recipe Box (Banana Banana Bread)
By Elena Black
Hello fellow Slytherins!
For this month, I have chosen a favorite snack of mine. But it's actually altered. How so? Well, allow me to present to you all, Banana Banana Bread!
Oh yes, you're definitely reading that correctly. I didn't forget about the nuts. You see, there are none in this version. An interesting twist though with so many Muggles often being allergic to nuts of any kind, that may perhaps be for the best. In fact, if you yourself have such an allergy, feel free to use this version instead. Or you can make it for an important person to you, something of the like.
I'm guessing I've gotten your attention, right?
Well then, feel free to glance down and read on with how to make this delicious dish.
Ingredients: -2 cups all-purpose flour -1 teaspoon baking soda -1/4 teaspoon of salt -1/2 cup of butter -3/4 cup of brown sugar -2 eggs, beaten -2 1/3 cups of mashed, overripe bananas
Cooking Utensils: -You will need several unused teaspoons -You will need a loaf pan for the bread -You will need a bowl -You will need access to an oven -You might need an apron (for yourself, of course. This is optional but recommended)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
3. Bake in preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.

Until next time,
