Welcome to the newest issue of SOUP! A lot has happened since our last release in December and boy do I have a story to tell. February had barely gotten started when I got an owl saying that I needed to report to the SOUP HQ as soon as possible. So, I grabbed my stuff and found my way into the cramped office (really, it's an over-sized broom cupboard in the common room) and there was this note pinned to the bulletin board on the wall.

I'm off to Romania to comfort heartbroken vampires.
You're in charge of SOUP now!
Good Luck!
-Jason

Comfort heartbroken vampires? Had Jason lost his mind?! Well, he had been acting rather strange lately. He told me that his favorite color was blue and I know for a fact it was green just a few weeks ago. He showed up one day asking why articles weren't turned in for some Ravenclaw paper I've never heard of. He tried telling me he writes for Witch Weekly (He writes for the Daily Prophet). Needless to say, I was very worried about my dear friend. I've heard that he's doing well in his new job and seems to be enjoying it. In the end, that's all that matters, I suppose.

Meanwhile, I sat at the desk staring down piles and piles of papers in an organization system I didn't understand and realizing that I had to hire new writers, redesign the paper, and clean our microscopic office in just a few weeks. Oh, and then Pansy was mad at me because I forgot to get her flowers for Valentines Day (I bought her new shoes, earrings, AND chocolate. The woman still wanted flowers). Kreature has been going on about dragons again; I think Oana's been hanging out with him too much.

Thankfully, I was able to sweet talk a couple friends into coming on board or I was going to be up a creek without a paddle. To celebrate SOUP's survival, we decided to keep the Mardi Gras celebration going and use it as our theme. SOUP has a brand new look along with some brand new writers and columns. The office still is not clean, well it was, but then a baby basilisk got in there somehow and destroyed it again. How a baby basilisk got into Hogwarts, let alone SOUP's office, is beyond me.

Anyway! I hope you enjoy the newest issue of SOUP and have a fantastic month!

Love,

Alisha
