Fashion Indoors

Loyal readers, since Hogwarts sent us all home, I've been stuck inside ever since. Now, I don't know about all of you, but I'm getting pretty sick and tired of being here! So instead of doing any kind of spell practicing or reading up on the theories of magic, I've learned the best ways to make staying at home feel less like a prison. This is going to take all of us back to the "good old days".

1 - Cloths of comfort
Everyone should know by now that my stance on just wearing sweat pants with your hair up in that "messy bun" style is an absolute no-go! However, that's if you're being seen in any kind of public setting. When you're outdoors, the styles you choose are your first impression to others and being seen in that look means you're the person who isn't putting their best foot forward. However, in these times we're all supposed to stay indoors, which means that nobody will see us unless they're already living with us. In that case, it doesn't matter!

Put on those sweat pants, throw your hair into that messy bun, wear your Stitch slippers all day long! Just ensure that you take a shower on a regular basis before odors start growing in your bed or couches. I personally prefer to wear a nice pair of leggings that hide the fact my legs haven't been shaved in a good month and a baggy t-shirt. I can admit that I have been doing more at-home pedicures on myself, so no socks for this writer!

2 - Pillows and blankets
Not only are these items used for good comfort, but they can also be used to invest in a child-like nature. Pillow forts! When you get sick and tired of staring at the same walls every day? Make a pillow fort! Want to get out and sleep in a bed that's not your own? Make a pillow fort! Having company over that you don't know if they're truly safe to be around without getting sick? Make a pillow fort, just don't forget to disinfect the house afterward and demand the secret password! Just want something to pass the time because you're at home all day? Make. A. Pillow. Fort.

I'm hoping that you're beginning to see the pattern here. I've spent a good couple of days working on building my own fort, so far it stretches from one end of the basement to the other end and I'm quite proud of it. Now, the cats don't care much for it unless they're jumping on the ceiling structure and knocking all of my hard work down. A word of caution, be wary of any pets that you might have!

3 - #SelfCare
Usually, I won't condone the use of Muggle technology so heavily because I'm aware that not all of our Housemates have access to this. However, I did come across this mobile app that's called "#SelfCare." Well, it kind of acts like a game but it's not really a game. The entire premise of it is that you're spending the day in bed and need to take care of yourself. That's the idea of this section!

While we are staying inside, remember that you still need to take care of yourself! Make sure that you're drinking fluids, eating as healthy as you can, and even opening up the windows if possible to get some fresh air and sunlight circling through your system.

Remember that we're all pretty much like house plants with complicated emotions, we will need food and water, even sunlight!

4 - Check-in on Each Other
I'm sure we're all going stir crazy right now, and outside of making sure that your friends are doing alright, this is also a good time to just chat on the phone. Staying inside by ourselves with no interaction with another human isn't the best way to spend our time. So pick up the phone, call your friend and make sure they're alright while just talking about the day. Make some plans about what you're going to do when we're all allowed to go outside, even talk about the new hobbies you might've picked up in the meantime. Just don't sit inside without interacting with anyone, that's not good for your health!

With those few tips, I wish everyone a good day and hope that you all are staying safe as well. These are hard times, yes, but we can still learn and thrive during it. This would also be a great time for everyone to go through their closets for any clothing that might be out of season. I don't want to see any more crocs of sandals with socks. We have the time to clean out that closest, so you might as well do that!
