Hi there, it's Katie_slytherin here once again, bringing you another edition of 'Chatting with...'! This month we are shaking things up a bit so buckle up and hold onto your butts because you are in for a wild ride! Now, as I was going down my list of potential interviewees and thinking about interview questions, an idea struck me. Why ask about theoretical apocalyptic responses when I could get the real thing! I certainly cut this article to the submission deadline this month, but it took a bit of time to create an arena and trick. . . I mean, invite people to come to my very own version of The Hunger Games. I modelled my arena after the Forbidden Forest and kept the arena dark the entire game to add some spookiness to the atmosphere. Now for this to work, I ensured all of my contestants did not have their wands on them, and I built some special weapons the weapons used would cause no actual harm, so don't worry, no one actually died in my game because that would be 'unethical' and 'illegal' and blah blah blah.
The game was rather interesting to watch. Vincent Crabbe was the first one out of the game after accidentally shooting himself with a paint gun- he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, that one. Gregory Goyle, Pansy Parkinson, and Draco Malfoy were the next three to go- it was quite comical. Malfoy used Goyle as a human shield when an angry Hippogriff came running after him, then Parkinson thought she would be able to help protect Mr Malfoy from the creature (spoiler alert- she failed miserably), and after all that effort, Malfoy ended up tripping over a tree root and landed head first on a pointy rock (luckily for him it was made of foam). Let's see, so that's four down; what happened next? Oh yes, that's right! Marcus Flint was next, and although he had found himself an old-school broom to use, he got a bit too caught up in celebrating, dropping a rubber knife onto Lucian Bole, he didn't see the arrow shot by Cassius Warrington (who unluckily was hit by a fireball a few hours later).
The end of the game came down to a very exciting brawl between Graham Montague, Miles Bletchley, and Adrian Pucey. It was a grand fight to witness- I wish you could have been there! Conversely, Mr Pucey used his skills and wit to walk out as the champion! Now, after all the excitement of the game, I sent an anonymous owl to interview him, and after a bit of persuasion in the form of a muffin basket, he agreed to answer my questions, so without further ado, on to the interview! (Hey, that rhymes!)
Katie: Hello, Champion Adrian Pucey; thank you for agreeing to answer a few questions for me. Up first I would like to know if you enjoyed the game. Did you have fun?
Adrian: Well, considering I was tricked into it and I was told it was going to be a game of life or death, I certainly would not use the word 'fun' to describe my time in your terrible scheme. However, looking back on it, it was rather exciting and certainly an experience I will never forget. I will say that I did enjoy the game; after realizing what it really was, it was, well, I suppose, fun, but I will never do this ever again.
Katie: I am glad you enjoyed it! You did quite well throughout the whole game, I was very impressed by your skills. What would you say was your key quality to surviving?Adrian: I would say that keeping a bit of a defence for myself was what helped me the most. I tried my best to stay hidden and to be quiet rather than simply jumping into action like others. While I didn't make any allies in the game, I also didn't really make any enemies from either humans or magical creatures.
Katie: You did put up a wonderful defence, definitely the best out of everyone in the game. Let's talk about your offense now. What would you say were some of your best moments?
Adrian: I would say blade throwing was my strongest skill. As a chaser, I've learned a thing or two about aim, and I have a good arm, so I was able to pick up on blade throwing after a bit of trial and error. There was one moment when an angry Kneazle was chasing after me, and I was able to get him with my first throw. It did scare me after it popped, though; I didn't expect it to be a balloon.
Katie: Ah, why, thank you, I put a lot of effort into the mechanics of the game. Who would you say was your biggest target in the game?
Adrian: Definitely, Graham. There's a reason why he is the captain of the Quidditch team, and there is a reason why he was one of the final three in the game. I have a lot of respect for him, and I've known him for some time, so I knew that it would be a difficult battle at the end. I didn't really expect to win; I thought one of the other two would get it for sure.
Katie: You should give yourself some more credit; you are a very talented and smart Slytherin. I don't wish to take up too much of your time, so I will skip to the last question. How do you feel about being the champion?
Adrian: It feels great, probably greater than it should feel considering I was half kidnapped and forced into this situation, but despite that, I am rather proud of myself. I would consider doing it again under different circumstances, such as not being tricked into it.
Katie: Haha, well, maybe I can throw together another game, and this time I will advertise it and have a sign-up list. Well, thank you for answering my questions and enjoy your muffins!
All right, folks, that wraps up this issue's Chatting With..! Thanks for reading, and thanks, Blythe, for coming to chat with us!
Until I reemerge from my cave again, this is goodbye from your favourite socktastically pureblooded Slytherin!
