Adventures of Beagle
- By: Nosy Beagle

My nose twitched in disgust as I prowled the halls of Hogwarts. In my Beagle form, I am supposed to be color blind. Well I still am, but even I can see the clashing of the four House colors plastered all over the stone walls and even covering some of the portraits.

It started with the Slytherins wanting to celebrate themselves and draping the castle in a lot of green and silver. The Gryffindors, not wanting to be outdone, quickly joined in dressing the castle in red and gold. Of course this just made the Ravenclaws want to show the lions and snakes how to properly cover the stone walls of the castle. I am still not sure how the Hufflepuffs became involved, but somewhere along the line they did.

This made the entirety of Hogwarts one vomit-inducing mass of color that was burning my eyes. Nowhere was safe! My beagle eyes were miserable and my stomach was miserable too since not even the kitchens were safe from the war, so I ended up needing to avoid there too.

I was just minding my own business, walking down the hall with my eyes shut to protect them, when one of my front paws slipped on something round and I went sprawling to the ground. It was only then that I dared to open my eyes.

I came face to face with a long stick and I knew one of the students must have dropped their wand at some point. I sigh in absolute misery. I am going to need to head to the worst room of the castle, with the largest amount of decorations, the Great Hall, to give the wand to the staff so they can find the right student and return the wand, aren't I?

Before I can procrastinate any longer, no matter how much I would like to do just that, I pick the wand up gently in my mouth. I drop it instantly as a spark shoots out of the wand. I look in the direction the spark shot to check the damage to the castle. To my surprise the castle hallway wasn't damaged at all!

Instead the yellow, blue, and red banners of Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Gryffindor all shifted to the same color as the Slytherin banners. I may not be able to read in my Beagle form either because I am too short, but I don't care if the words changed or not! What matters is that the eyesore is finally being corrected!

My tail wagged in glee! Everyone should be in the Great Hall for another hour or two for dinner! That gives me plenty of time to wander the halls, changing all the decorations to green! I gently lift the wand again and flick it in every direction as I trot slowly down the hallway to make sure that I get everything. Hallway after hallway red, yellow, and blue changes to green. It was a good thing I was already on one of the upper floors because then I could just work my way down the castle.

When I finally get to the lower floors I bypass the Great Hall to the dungeon to fix the mess down there, and head back to the hall when I am done. Now that I have fixed everything I realize I can't enter the hall because they will then know what happened to change everything. Instead I drop the wand by the entrance of the hall for when people start coming out.

I then decide to head back to the kitchens, that are now safe for my eyes, since I already stopped there once. I feel like I deserve cake for that work. You're welcome, Slytherins.

And to celebrate my green victory, why don't you answer these questions for the raffle?
Question 1 - Is there anything you would like to see me do during my adventures?
Question 2 - What is one thing that you want to know about my Beagle form?
