Since we are celebrating Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in this issue, it seems fitting that we focus on some of the magical creatures which were mentioned in this particular book. I have listed twelve of them, each of which is associated in some way with one of the twelve zodiac signs. Simple coincidence, or more than that? Only J.K. Rowling knows for sure, which means that we are unlikely to ever know for certain.
I suggest we not worry about that, but focus instead on discovering who, or perhaps what, we truly are. Enjoy, but try not to take it too seriously!
Aries - You are the Basilisk! You always know exactly what you want and go after it with a killing instinct, exactly as the King of all Snakes would do. Is it any wonder you are the first sign in the zodiac, with that kind of power at your disposal? Not to me!
Taurus - You are the Weasley family ghoul! You don't mean to be bad, it's just part of your bullish nature to be stubborn and refuse to leave the place you love and regard as your home. Once a Taurus makes up his or her mind, there's not a lot one can do about it.
Gemini - You are the Wagga Wagga Werewolf! Intelligent and extremely complex, you are undoubtedly that, but also someone who is conflicted by the two different sides of your personality and cannot control the change. Every time I think of the werewolf I think of the two sides of Gemini, so this creature seems tailor made for the Twins.
Cancer - You are the Acromantula! Not everyone knows your true nature because you are a very private person, much like the largest spider that ever lived. You also value your family above everything else. They mean the world to you and you mate for life, much like our friend, the Acromantula.
Leo - You are the Phoenix! Such a proud symbol can only fit the proudest sign in the zodiac, and your loyalty to those who you care about is just as large as that of this most amazing bird. Both of you also arise from fire, and makes the connection between the two very clear.
Virgo - You are Mrs. Norris! You know exactly what you want, and are close to very few. There is only one person you trust enough to share who you really are with them. Mrs. Norris is like this, too. Like you she is independent and loves doing things her way, but she also needs someone to care for in her life. May you find and love your Filch for life, too!
Libra - You are Errol, the owl! You have your own agenda which you've been following forever, and sometimes others find you - shall we say - a bit flighty? But that's part of what makes you you and why people love you so much. Don't ever change!
Scorpio - Bandon Banshee - Scorpio definitely has an agenda all their own. You know exactly what you want and how to get it, and revenge is definitely a possibility. There could even be shrieking involved if things were to go wrong for you, as you hate to be crossed and don't take defeat lightly no matter how innocent you may appear at first.
Sagittarius - You are the Cornish Pixies! You are the adventurous one, and also have a tendency to be a bit mischievous at times. You don't even necessarily mean to hurt anyone in particular. It's just kind of who you are, and is not a bad thing.
Capricorn - You are the House Elf! Above all the signs, you are the most diligent and orderly. You work tirelessly, never complaining and constantly obedient, knowing that your efforts will pay off and one day your wishes will come true. And of course, you are right as always!
Aquarius - You are a Weasley Family Garden Gnome! You are completely unpredictable, and if it's tearing up a lawn that will get you the attention you deserve, then it's tearing up a lawn that you will do! As crazy as it seems, we have to admit that your ideas have merit! They work perfectly for you.
Pisces - You are the Blood-Sucking Bugbear! No one is really sure sometimes whether you are really there or not, as you tend to disconnect and disappear as quickly as a boggart. Despite your mysterious nature, you may well be the wisest one of all.
