Born Under a Bad Sign
By Samantha Bradley
It seems only appropriate that SOUP's theme for this issue should be the Moon, as we are just now entering the cycle for the one single zodiac sign which has the Moon as its ruling planet. That sign is one I know very well, as it is my own sign, Cancer the Crab. Those born under Cancer are often called Moon Children, by the way. If this is your sign, be proud of that!
Cancers are generally home lovers and are very devoted to those they love. They can get very jealous (believe me, I know) and are possibly the most moody sign in the entire zodiac. Speaking just for myself, I can tell you that my mood changes constantly throughout the day, even minute to minute. I'm used to it, but some people don't really care for it and will think you're immature, because Cancer is also an incredibly sensitive and intuitive sign. Happens to me all the time! And it's okay to wear your heart on your sleeve. You're a Cancer, so be proud of it.
I decided to focus mainly on love connections, as I'm sure many of you are curious about this. (Come on, you KNOW you are!) And so, as an amateur astrologer and someone who has loved mysticism and the occult since I was a kid, here is my unbiased opinion.
Signs that are not generally compatible with Cancer are Aries, Gemini, Sagittarius and Aquarius. The most compatible signs are Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Pisces and Scorpio. However, Libra, Leo and Capricorn may prove great matches as well, if the two of you are willing to be tolerant of one another. Remember , there are different factors in play that could give you a shot at what would be considered an incompatible or so so sign. One of these is your Moon sign, which can make a huge difference. My Moon sign is Gemini, and that means that I can get along with a Gemini better than many Cancers and this could be a good match for me. Your cusp sign also increases compatibility. This is when you are born within the first or last few days of your sign. I am a Cancer/Leo cusp, and therefore Leo would probably be a fantastic match for me, along with the fact that both my parents were Leos. See how this works?
As a rule, all water and earth signs are perfect for Cancer. But - here's where it gets interesting. There is what is called a polar opposite, which is six months apart from your birth sign. For Cancer, that sign is Capricorn, and it will appear at first glance the two don't have that much in common. Not necessarily true! Opposites attract, and there are many cases where the polar opposite is perfect for you so don't rule it out! I did a compatibility comparison for this sign with me (well, I did them for every sign, to tell you the truth) just out of curiosity, and it told me that this was a great match with my chart! So, I guess my advice would be to give all twelve signs a shot and see how it works out, because you never know!
May you find the true love you seek, no matter what sign that person they may be.
