Many battles rage around us. Each one different from the next. But what do they have in common? A hero or heroine emerges from the burning abyss of the battlefield they have been upon, either mental or physical. We will be discussing heroines in this Legends Among Us.
We know a great deal about wizarding heroines, but what about the Muggle ones? Many fit what a heroine is but that varies per person. Maya Angelou, Rosa Parks, Queen Elizabeth I and Malala Yousafzai are very notable heroines. Each fighting to better the lives of others. Baring the courage it takes to stand up for what they believe in.
Malala was 15 when she was shot for publicly speaking out about women's rights to education, calling for gender equality in her home country of Pakistan. She is also the author of I am Malala. She has since been a world presence in her beliefs, becoming the youngest to win a Nobel Peace Prize.
Rosa Parks is perhaps one of the most famous women in American history. In Alabama, under segregation laws in 1955, she was forced to give up her seat in the "colored section" for a white man. Rosa was arrested and thus beginning the Montgomery Bus Boycott. She also wrote an autobiography better detailing her civil rights movement. One that shaped the path for a better future. She was the first woman to lie at the Capitol Rotunda, with only four Americans have been honored this way. The famous Bus No. 2857 is still on display at the Henry Ford Museum.
Heroines are all around us in different shapes, sizes, and colors. It is their beliefs and heart that make their stand so strong. Do you know someone who you consider a heroine that you would love to have recognized? Please send their name to Salazia. Who knows? You could hear their story in Legends Among Us!
Well, my snakelings, I hope your inner heroine enjoyed this. I know I learned many things after reading about these inspirational women.
-Until next time, follows your beliefs!
