Hello my lovely, snakes! It's that time again! Welcome to this month's Chatting with... When I heard about this month's theme a ton of amazing women in our wonderful magical world came to mind. Then ... the hard part came ... which of these women to sit down and have a chat with. Luckily, Professor McGonagall was available for a quick chat after Transfiguration class.
Serenity Black: Professor, thank you so much for allowing me to chat with you for this month's issue of SOUP. I know you don't have much time between lessons, so I'll make this quick. As we discussed prior, this month we are discussing heroines. I'm not sure if you're aware but many of us students look up to you, Professor. Is that something you are conscious of?
Minerva McGonagall: You're very welcome, Miss Black. To answer your question, it isn't much I've given thought too. As a professor, my only hope is to give you all the tools to succeed in the world outside of this school.
SB: I've heard that you had a Ministry job before becoming a professor. What made you decide on the change?
MM: I was unhappy working for the Ministry. So, after two years of service, I left to become the Head of Gryffindor and Transfiguration Professor. If I could give one bit of advice to anyone reading this. Do what you love. Don't settle.
SB: Great words of advice, Professor. As we all know, you are an Animagus. Many are aware that during the First Wizarding War, you used this ability to spy on Death Eaters and report back to Aurors. How did you learn to become an Animagus?
MM: Our wonderful headmaster.
SB: Professor Dumbledore taught you??
MM: Yes, with his guidance, I mastered becoming an Animagus.
SB: Wow! I had no idea Professor. I know your next class will start filing in soon. Before I let you go, would you mind playing a quick game of Rapid Fire Questions?
MM: That sounds interesting.
SB: It's really easy, you just say the first answer that comes to mind when I ask a question. Ready?
MM: I suppose.
SB: If you were to change your Animagus form, what would you change it to from the tabby cat?
MM: Hm, perhaps a falcon?
SB: If you could teach any other subject what would you teach?
MM: Charms.
SB: If you could interview any living woman alive today, who would you interview?
MM: Perhaps the American jurist, Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
SB: Sweet or sour?
MM: Both
SB: Hot or cold?
MM: Cold
SB: Thank you, for your time today Professor.
MM: Have a wonderful day, Miss Black.
That my friends, is all for this month's Chatting with... This is Serenity Black signing off. See you all next month!
