Morgana sat on her bed in the Slytherin dorm and thought about the end-of-year holidays. All of a sudden she had an idea.

"Hey girls, what if I host a song contest? The idea would be that everyone changes the words of a known holiday song or carol, and makes the words more magical. Make a connection to Hogwarts and HEXmas," said Morgana.

"Don't you mean Christmas?" asked the Muggle-born witch Amizore.

"No, Amy," replied Morgana. "I mean HEXmas. Muggles celebrate Christmas. We magical folk celebrate HEXmas!"


The Caesar cipher is one of the earliest known and simplest ciphers. It is a type of substitution cipher in which each letter in the plain text is 'shifted' a certain number of places down the alphabet. For example, with a shift of 1, A would be replaced by B, B would become C, and so on.
