I scratched the door of the huge castle in front of me. I was locked out and it was snowing. While I don't mind the cold because of my warm fur coat... I hated the wet snow! I thought snow was bad as a human, but it is even worse as a dog. The squishy wetness squishing between your toes. The cold seeping through the pads of my feet. When you slip on ice getting covered in the cold stuff and freezing. The dogs that like playing in the snow are idiots.
I keep scratching and whining at the door. Please someone let me in. I don't want to be out in this misery! No one came. At least I wasn't alone in my misery. See I had a necklace that turned into a collar with gems. This attracted a Niffler and said Niffler likes to ride my back and strangle me with the collar. Since the little Niffler has stuck with me for a while, I decided to call him Clingy. If he was going to cling to me as a human or beagle he might as well have a fitting name.
Currently he was plastered to my back stealing my body heat. Little jerk. Didn't he have enough of his own. And then he saw something glint in the distance and he ran off after that. He must be an idiot if he thought I would follow. I am staying right next to the door, waiting for someone to come open it and keeping my paws planted on the only part of the ground that is still snow free. Clingy eventually finds his way back to me. He is dripping wet. He must have lost to the snow. Which means I lost because he quickly scrambled onto my back to take a nap. Why! My fur was getting soaked because of him and I was starting to freeze.
When the drops of water began to turn into icicles on me the door was finally opened. I scrambled inside, Clingy waking up and holding on tight, and ran right for the fireplace in the Great Hall. I curled up in front of the nice warm fire.
Maybe I could learn to hibernate like the polar bears do.
Who am I kidding? Food is far too good for that.
