Home for the Holidays

by Martha Blackheart

Ah it's the holidays once again which to some means gifts, food and...family. No offense to the people who love their family, it is just that some are a bit...eccentric. To avoid any conflicts try these tips out. (Note: They may or may not work. Use at your own discretion)

-Avoid talking about political or global issues as much as you can (if it's invetable, be careful to not turn it into a debate)
-If you always shy away from kisses and the giver seems hurt, sit down with them and explain gently that would prefer them to not kiss you because it makes you uncomfortable.
-Breathe. (I know that your cousin's little brats kids get on your nerves, but the last thing you want are screaming kids in your ear and disrupting everything)
-Even if you don't want to be there, pretend you are having a good time and smile.

That about sums it up. Now there is a nice big mug of apple cider waiting for me, so I leave you. ~Cheers!
