Magical Musings - Weird Weather
- Aria

You know what? I really don't like weird weather phenome- phenomen... Oh I give up. I don't like scary weather, okay? Sure, rain is great. It's soothing, calming, and makes the sky not so incredibly ridiculously bright. But when it gets scarier, louder, and brighter, that's when I don't enjoy it, at all. The thunder is horrifying. I get it, some people think that storms are really calming, but do me a favor and tell me how that sound is not scary. You're just sitting there, listening to really calm rain falling when all of a sudden, out of nowhere, the thunder claps in the sky, sounding like it's going to rip the clouds apart and unleash some kind of fury upon the world. And okay, there's lightning, right? It's brighter than it has any right to be. I still don't understand the point of it, unless its whole purpose is to warn me about the incoming thunder. But it doesn't. It only makes me anticipate the horror of the thunder.

So no, telling me a thunderstorm is calming isn't really helpful, at all. In fact, you're just going to stress me out even more. Not to mention how wet the ground gets. You expect me to go outside and not fall flat on my face because the ground is wet? Yeah, no, that's not going to be happening at all. But hey, guess what? There's more horrible and frustrating weather issues. Should we stress out about them together? Yeah, let's do it. This will be super fun.

Tornados. Hurricanes. Is the world just trying to make our lives frustrating and exhausting? Hurricanes are not fun, despite the pretty little circles that show up on the maps. They barrel in your way and take over your whole life and drown you! Not to mention, they can take over an entire house! Am I supposed to just be relaxed and chill and completely not committed to protecting my house, animals, or loved ones? Who decided that natural disasters involving weather were something that was allowed? I don't know, but I'd like to have a serious discussion with them about the foolishness that they're causing.

I'd much rather stay safe and inside, thank you very much. Weather, behave, because I will cry, and we don't need more tears. Although, maybe I could get back at them for it and just cry like that Muggle movie Alice in Wonderland and show hurricanes, tornadoes, and typhoons whose boss. I don't know if that would work though. It might just wind up giving me a headache from crying so much.

How about this? We'll make a pact to protect each other during the scary weather and be nice to each other when helping. Take the time to get to know what your loved ones need during weird weather and treat them all with kindness.

Stay safe,
Aria
