Legends Among Us
- Milena Racheli

On a clear night with the stars brightly shining above me, and the moonlight on my back, I apparated almost in front of a house in Romania. I looked around but besides me were only trees as far as I could see in the dark. I was, if I apparated to the correct region, in Romania. As it was night, I could not see a lot of these glorious lands that were mysterious to me. It was a pity, of course. I would have loved to learn more about this land, what other secrets it would keep apart from the dragons I so often learned about at school.

I quietly walked towards the house where the Legend of Slytherin of the month was found to live. As our Legend, Hekate Devil, opened the door, I saw that she was wearing elegant looking cozy woolen clothes. I instantly felt at home and was amazed at the contrast of her light coloured clothes with the bright jewelry. After thoroughly complimenting Hekate Devil (HD), we sat for tea and biscuits, which I truly enjoyed. I felt so warm and comfortable and almost forgot to ask the questions I was intended to ask!

MR: What is your opinion about being the Legend of Slytherin of this month? Do you feel like many people can be called a Legend, or just a few?
HD: I'm honored. It's something I've dreamt of ever since I've been a 1st year. Although now, being called "legend" feels a bit too much. I believe everyone of us has something special; something that makes us stand out. And that only working together we can achieve greatness for ourselves and, most importantly, our Slytherin House.

MR: What do you think about the cosmos?
HD: I think the cosmos is fascinating. It's so vast and yet mostly unexplored. And I believe it's full of wonders waiting to be discovered.

MR: If you were to create a planet to live on with your fellow Legends of Slytherin, how would it look like/be like to live there?
HD: What an interesting question! I'd try my best to create a lovely place. Our planet would be a green one, with plenty of natural resources, drinkable water, moderate climate and a similar night/day rotation.
I think it could be great place of us, snakes.

MR: What is your favourite known planet and why this planet in particular?
HD: Pluto. Well, because since it's discovery it's been classified both as a planet then a dwarf planet, and it still hasn't completed 1 full rotation around our sun! Just because it's a tiny planet it doesn't mean it's not a planet. Maybe it's some sort of solidarity feeling towards it.

MR: Muggles use a thing called a rocket to travel through the cosmos. How could we in the Wizarding World travel through the cosmos? Is it different from the Muggle way?
HD: I think rockets are the best. Of course, our spaceships are improved with protective charms and special spells. I think that's the only difference.

MR: If you could fill the universe with anything you like, what would you fill it with?
HD: I'd feel it with love and acceptance. Yes, I know, it might sound a bit over-used. But I genuinely believe this universe would be much better if everyone will get along.

MR: Who would you take with you on a space travel?
HD: I'd take my husband! He'd enjoy travelling all over the universe with me. And I'd feel much safer with him by my side. I think it would be a fun adventure, and that's something wonderful to share as a couple!

How wonderful these answers were! That evening I could not stop dreaming about the cosmos and future space travels and where all those could take us! Even after leaving this lovely warm house in Romania and entering the cold of the street I could not help but pondering all that we discussed. I looked up to the moon and thought about the Legends of Slytherin I had met already in my short journalist career, and who I would meet next.
