Mmmmm. There's nothing like the scent of fresh baking or cooking to make one smile and relax. December, more than any other time of year really, is associated with plentiful seasonal goodies. This month, we're bringing you various traditions and holiday cooking for Yuletide. So sit back, grab a steaming mug of wassail, and enjoy the December edition of SOUP as we explore Yuletide Cooking and Baking!
First, we have tantalizing treats for your tastebuds. Check out Interactive for cookie fun and the Recipe Box for some delicious Yule-inspired flapjacks. Need a bit of exercise after all that munching? Then join Katie_slytherin in News and Noteworthy for a wonderful tour of our beloved site. For exercise of a more intellectual nature, Erin's Puzzling Things is not to be missed. Finally, for treats designed for your other senses, be sure to check out the Book Column and the Poetry Corner. I came away refreshed and ready to check out all the other articles as well!
We fully understand how difficult it is for some to work during such 'high stress' times of the year. While not everyone observes North American holidays like Thanksgiving -or even more international ones like Hanukkah, Christmas, or Kwanzaa- the end of the calendar year is still full of many other stressors. I mean... we still enforced several deadlines on our SOUP staff (No, you may NOT take a nap, Millie!) and made some do even MORE work (Katie had to write several extra articles as punishment for a prank she pulled... we still haven't gotten all of the water out of our offices... or the squid who took up residence).
So why not head on over and check out our newest edition of SOUP and salivate over the delicious prose and games that our staff has come up with? Each writer has worked hard to ensure that you had some yuletide entertainment this year.
Be sure to leave some feedback over in the Common Room SOUP thread once you've finished. Go ahead and click the first article now!
Now it's on to the next big thing for a dragon and a feline.
