- Briellerose the Hobbit

Narcissa Malfoy loved Yule as much as anyone. It was her favourite holiday and she loved having ideas for the food and seeing it being brought to life. Everything from the Croquembouche to the gingerbread castle had been planned with precision that Narcissa Malfoy was famous for.

She sighed as she stood in the Malfoy Manor hosting room, looking around before asking an elf to move something over for her. It was a huge event and Narcissa wanted to make sure that everything was perfect. She was also trying some new recipes. She had tried to hand bake something called a Yule Log that her daughter-in-law, Astoria, had told her about. She didn't approve of Astoria's views on Muggles but she also wanted to impress her at the same time.

Narcissa eyed up the Yule Log and knew that Scorpius would love it as it was basically made up of chocolate and her grandson's favourite treat was chocolate. She sighed once more before heading down to the vast Malfoy Manor kitchens. It stank of fish and that was all part of her plans. Narcissa had decided to have themed areas of food to reflect her French ties and, of course, Lucius' family roots. Sadly for her that included oysters and smoked salmon. She turned up her nose, casting a bubblehead charm on her head so she didn't need to smell the fish. She couldn't stand the smell and now it was starting to overwhelm her.

In fact you could almost be forgiven for thinking that you were in France as Narcissa had designed all the food and it was overly heavy with French foods. She watched as the House Elves began to work on the festive cheese platters, ready to go out once the guests had arrived so they remained chilled in the meantime. She nodded her approval at the chocolate truffles that had a hint of alcohol for the adults so they could enjoy the evening.

Narcissa had wanted to do a round the world trip with food but she had found herself in France and that is where she wanted to stay. She moved over to the desserts area and that was an area that she wanted to be just perfect. She looked at the macarons and the candy cane themed opera cake. She had a sweet tooth and only Lucius knew about it as she taste tested everything to make sure that everything was just how she wanted it to be. Her mind had begun to wander and she'd decided to set everything up with a little theme and she had decided on France... almost by accident but she was happy with her theme and it was something that would honor the French side of both families because France had a special place in her heart and the best way to honor that was the Malfoy's French-themed Yule Ball.

"This is going to be perfect," she whispered. "Just perfect," she whispered once more as she swept out of the kitchen and headed to the hosting room.
