Fashion for HEXmas
- By Marsha Mallow

Now, I don't know if you all understand how hard it is to make something as simple as a coat fashionable, or at the very least the northern half of the world would know about this right around now. It's not even just the coats but the fact that right after Halloween has ended the world is ready for the winter festivities of HEXmas. Seeing all of this unfashionable clothes sitting around the Common Room is enough to make me throw up my entire breakfast.

The one piece of clothing that seems to stick, regardless of how much society tries to ruin them, are scarves. The Muggle media will put so much emphasis on the infinity scarves which I can understand except there's nothing interesting about them. Give me handmade scarves any day of the week and I'll be content with the rest of my outfit. Besides, who even needs a scarf that has no ends when they know how to properly wrap around the ends.

You know what goes great with a good scarf as well? An equally nice hat. Honestly, it's easy to attempt to match the two of these but I highly discourage anyone from doing this. It's so predictable to do and not worth the overall effort in keeping track with all of the matching. If you've got a light blue scarf going on then you might as well throw a forest green hat along with it. Bring out the foliage of the Forbidden Forest and the peaceful sky all in one shot. The second that both of those articles are either a light blue or a dark green then you're required to match the rest of your outfit with them.

"Oh but Marsha! What about the gloves?"
I'm genuinely hoping that none of my fashionable readers have the audacity to even ask this question. Not only do gloves restrict everything that you could possibly do they're also the most useless piece of clothing that you could have! Their only true function is to keep your hands warm, as if the burning of all that useless homework wouldn't also achieve such a feature. Hopefully nobody tells Professor Snape that I just said something like that, I would prefer to see the light of another day that's not stuck in the dungeons for detention.

As for the rest of the winter clothing that would come out this season, it's with great disdain for me to say that there's nothing I can help with there. Usually my family take vacations to avoid such cold weather so I never need much more than a light jacket and maybe a scarf to keep away that wind chill. Or as previously stated, the burning of a never ending supply of homework works just as well.
