Spell of the Month (Colovaria)

By Trinity Langton

Yo fellow Slytherins!

Well, it's that time of year. You know, in between feeling certain we have time to get ready for all of the holidays and just before the moment where we think "Oh shit, I only got X days left!" Fret not. I've been there, done that, and have recently found something - a spell, to be precise - that can help immensely with your last-minuting decorating problems.

Without further ado, allow me to introduce you all to the Color Changing Charm!

Unfortunately, there is no real known background information on this incantation. So fortunately - or unfortunately, depending on your point of view - there won't really be any history lesson like how I did with the Diffindo Charm. So, let's dive right into learning about this spell, shall we? Here's the basic information about the incantation in question.

Incantation: Colovaria
Pronunciation: co-loh-VA-ree-ah
Type: Charm
Hand movement: Point wand at the target
Light: Red
Effect: Changes color

Pretty self-explanatory, yeah?

As you can guess, it doesn't really do much in duels. I suppose you could alter the dress robes much like how the two fairies in Sleeping Beauty did. But honestly, you may end up doing your opponent more of a favor than anything. If they're sorta like me, they'll like almost any color, even if it isn't included with their non-Slytherin House.

Hey. Don't judge. I love red but I'm not in Gryffindor.

Not that I don't love green, just ... red has always been a much more natural, typical color for me.

Hmmm. Oh. I suppose there is a note to remember in regards to this spell, and it's that you can't use it on people. Their hair and maybe eyes, yes, but not their actual skin hue. You can technically use this charm on animals but ... why? That's even stupider than using it during a duel, okay?

I mean, if you really wanna, I guess. Notlike I can stop you but ... if you even feel like you ended up wasting your time, don't say I didn't try to warn you.

With that, I now feel certain I've relayed everything you need to know about this Charm!

Anyway, that's my Spell of the Month! Have a great Thanksgiving or holiday, should you celebrate any!

Until next month,
Trinity Langton
