Narcissa Malfoy's pride and joy, other than Draco, was her beloved rose garden. It was her first task she'd chosen after marrying Lucius, and taking charge of Malfoy Manor. She'd always loved roses, as it was her favourite flower, much more than the daffodils she'd been named after. She often wondered why her parents decided to break tradition and name her after a flower.

She often sat in the rose garden after Lucius' death, wishing that he'd lived forever, but that was not to be. She looked around the garden at the roses, each colour was a specific memory. Red was for her dearly departed husband who, despite everything he'd caused, Narcissa loved dearly. Pink was for her; she'd always hidden a love of the colour, representing the daughter she was never able to have.

Green represented Draco, her darling son, and the family tie to Slytherin. It was a colour that was bright and pleasant, reminding her of summer days playing with Draco on the grass flowering around the Manor. Black roses littered in the colours represented Bellatrix. She'd never seen eye-to-eye with her oldest sister but like her husband, also loved her dearly. Orange was for Andromeda and the fire that the middle Black Sister had within. Andromeda even got herself blasted off the family tapestry for marrying Ted Tonks. Narcissa was devastated at the loss of her sister but after the War, they'd been reunited and she'd met her sister's grandson, Teddy, who was every bit his mother's son.

Those were the specific colours but over the years, Narcissa grew the garden and now had every colour of rose possible, along with some magical ones as well. The gardens were her domain and the rose garden was the best and prettiest part. Narcissa's rose garden was so precious to her that Lucius' peacocks weren't even allowed near the garden.

The only question that was asked when Scorpius was born was what colour he would have. She decided on blue in the end. It fit with Draco's green and she loved that. Scorpius took after his father, having the same hair and eye colour. She was rather thankful as she wasn't Astoria's biggest fan.

But Narcissa wasn't bothered. All that mattered was that her rose garden would live on after she'd gone. Draco had offered to take care of it. Narcissa was thankful as her rose garden had always been her favourite place of Malfoy Manor.
