Diagon Alley. What a great place full of everything you can possibly need or want. That should make it hard to come up with something to rant about, right?
WRONG!
There is a time of year to steer clear of the Alley. Summer, when all the kids are home from Hogwarts and you end up packed in like sardines because it is so crowded. Why would anyone put themselves through that crap! Like, really, no thanks. I don't do that many people in one place. Even the most social of people must hate the sheer madness of Diagon in the summer when so many kids are around.
Especially the weeks between when the Hogwart's letters go out and the start of the new school year.
You couldn't pay me enough to be there during that nightmare. Someone else would just need to pick up my supplies for me. Like, why do people think shopping in all that heat surrounded by hundreds of people is fun? There is no worse torture.
The shops might be great, but save them for days that they would be empty… like on the first of September when all the brats are getting on the Express and so their family has to be with them.
While you're at it, stop for some ice cream too. 'Cause if you have to be tortured by shopping, you might as well enjoy some of the best ice cream there is.
You are on a diet? Who cares? One day isn't going to kill you. But if you think it is, feel free to give it here and I will eat it for you.
Better yet, stop by before you go. I have a list of things I need but don't want to be tortured.
