He's arrogant... He's rude. Some of you like him, some of you don't.
Hello, my amazing housemates! Please join me for this month's Chatting with... Blaise Zabini.
Before I get started, I want to say how excited I am to bring to you these monthly interviews. As this is my first one for SOUP it's extremely special for me! I happened upon a chance to interview Blaise completely by accident. Now before you start laughing, remember - I was in a nervous state of mind. I had to think of someone to interview for this month's article and theme. Usually, the place where I think and write is the Room of Requirement. Well, the room thought it would be hilarious to hide the exit from me. So, yes, get your laughs out of the way now. I was lost inside the Room of Requirement. Apparently, the room felt that my leaving it - not a requirement.
It just so happens that while walking to find the exit, I ran into a fellow Slytherin -Blaise Zabini. Apparently, he likes to use the room to study.
After some chastising from him, he reluctantly agreed to let me interview him in hopes that this would allow the exit to appear, which in turn would mean me leaving him alone. Apparently I'm "irritating" - his words, not mine.
Now that I've given you a bit of background, let's move on to the interview.
Serenity Black: Thanks for letting me interview you for SOUP. I know you were studying, so I truly appreciate it.
Blaise Zabini: (face holding zero emotion) If it helps get you out of here.
SB: "I see you're studying, mind if I ask for which class?"
BZ: "Potions."
SB: "Ah, you are in the Slug Club after all. Makes sense. Any secrets you can tell us about the club?"
BZ: "Not much to tell."
SB: "You're a man of many words." (I said this with sarcasm.)
BZ: "Well, you know what they say? If you don't have anything nice to say..."
SB: "Okay, I get it! Alright, let's move on then. So why here? Why come to the Room of Requirement and not somewhere else?"
BZ: "People come here for different reasons, I come to study. It's quiet and no one..." (he pauses) "Well usually, no one comes in here."
SB: "I can see how that's more convenient. Is the room always the same for you?" (The room is currently set up like a library. Stacks of books and in an opening in the middle is a large table with 8 chairs surrounding it).
BZ: "For me, yes. I'm guessing though, it's different for you?"
SB: "Usually it's the same for me also. This is the first time it's looked like a... well, library."
BZ: "Seems the room thought we should meet." (He said with amusement.)
SB: "Before I continue my journey to find my way out of here, mind playing a quick game of rapid fire questions?"
BZ: (He sits back in his chair wearing his usual sneer.) "If you insist."
SB: "Great! Here's how it works. I ask you a question or say a word, you tell me the first thing that comes to mind. Let's start. Quidditch."
BZ: "Chaser"
SB: "Potions"
BZ: "Excel"
SB: "You don't seem to be that impressed with being in the Slug Club, why keep accepting invitations?"
BZ: "Because."
SB: "Color"
BZ: "Green"
SB: "Finally, Room of Requirement"
BZ: "Exit."
SB: "Huh?"
BZ: (He points behind me.) "Looks like we are finished."
As I turned to look in the direction he pointed and could now see the door where a stack of books was previously. I didn't want to take any chances of the room changing its mind again, so, after quickly thanking him for his time and giving a quick apology for interrupting his studies, I got out of there.
Although he's not one for many words and can be a bit brash, it was a pleasure getting a chance to interview Blaise for my first issue.
Well folks, that's all. I hope you enjoyed this month's edition of Chatting With...
This is Serenity Black, signing off. See you all next month!
