Spirit Animals: Love Bugs and Lady Bugs
By Desiree Snow
Ahh, love is in the air. Or, rather, it is in this SOUP article. Perhaps the staff were all bit by the love bug? Well, if that were the case, we’d all need a couple of ointment. And maybe a good dose of blue healing potion as an antibiotic.
Love bugs, also known as kissing fly, are anything but love inducing bugs. You’d think that a bug called the “love bug” would look .. well.. “lovely”. But they are anything but lovely. They don’t even qualify as normal.
Yes, that's how they look like. Nasty looking hybrid of a bug with two heads. Why they decided to call them love bugs is beyond me.
For the purpose of this article, we’ll be looking less at what they look like and more on what they represent.
Love Bugs
Love Bugs symbolize an interdependence. Two brains sharing one body. The duality of this bug is a sign of partnership.
Have you found yourself relying heavily on a particular friend? Been unburdening yourself, sharing your problems on one constant person?
Or has someone in your circle been having some problems and sought advice from you?
If this is the case, you might be under the influence of the LoveBug.
Just remember that, unlike the love bugs, you are not fused with other people. You are in charge of your own life and should likewise allow others to solve their problems on their own.
Lady Bugs
Now, here we have a really cute looking beetle. They are so iconic that there are clothing lines, brands, and even furniture patterned after them.
People who have lady bugs as their spirit animal are just as interesting as the bug themselves. They are lively type of people with an insatiable curiosity to delve into the world of the unknown.
This spirit animal is also reserved for the kind of people who are strongly aware of their own personal truth and are not afraid to live by it.
If you see a ladybug in your dreams or if you encounter them in your waking life, you are in for some good luck!
That's all for now, see you next time on my next article for this series on Spirit Animals!
Kiss kiss,
Desiree
