Letter from the Editors
- A Dragon, a Feline, & a Wolf

"Steampunk is... a joyous fantasy of the past, allowing us to revel in a nostalgia for what never was. It is a literary playground for adventure, spectacle, drama, escapism and exploration. But most of all, it is fun!" - George Man

What do you think, dear readers? Do you agree with Mr Man? We Editors certainly hope so. This month we and our illustrious and imaginative writers have taken a dive into the world of clockwork-inspired fantasies, to take a look at the world of Steampunk!

Whether you are more familiar with the leather and robotic aesthetic or the rich, victorian inspired writings of the Steampunk world, there is bound to be something to captivate and inspire you in this month's issue of SOUP. So why don't you grab your copy of Jules Verne's "1000 Leagues Under the Sea", put on your brass goggles and join us as we dive into the decadent fantasy world we have crafted just for you!

You can dip your toe into what Steampunk's all about by starting with either Lugh's Rant or Running like Clockwork. Still confused? There's a more in-depth look in the Art Column this month that will give you not only visual examples but the process as well. Care to have a try at something yourself? Then Gears of Apothecary is for you! For a wonderful vicarious immersion, however, we strongly recommend Cogheart. And, of course, we have a wonderful Playlist to get you in the mood as you read!

The SOUP Offices turned into a sauna this past month, what with all of the steam erupting from every crevice as several of our writers tinkered with all manners of clocks, gears, and engines. I fear that my poor fur will never be the same again. You'd think we'd learn from past mistakes with our choice of themes... but I digress. If you have any interest in contributing to our monthly issues, please drop us a line or send in an application!

Be sure to leave some feedback over in the Common Room SOUP thread once you've finished for a participation Jewel! Go ahead and click the first article now!

To find out whether our steamed and pressed editors have since cooled down after this month, make sure to watch out for upcoming issues of SOUP!
