Chatting with... Professor Sprout
- By: Serenity Black

Happy Earth Day, my wonderful snakes! I didn't have to think long on who I wanted to interview for this month's issue of Chatting with. I instantly thought of speaking with one of my favorite professors, Professor Sprout. My ears are still ringing from those Mandrakes from 2nd year!

I met with the professor in the Greenhouse to ask her some questions on what to do for Earth Day.

Serenity Black: Hello, Professor! Thank you so much for meeting with me.
Professor Sprout: It's a pleasure.

SB: With Earth Day approaching, I wanted to get your opinion on some things to do. I figured being a Herbology professor this would be right up your alley.
PS: You would be correct. It is an important Muggle day to celebrate, although we should spend the entire year bettering our planet.

SB: What can we do around Hogwarts and at home to help with protecting our planet?
PS: It definitely starts with each and every one of us, I'd say remember to follow the three R's - Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Also, remembering to conserve water. If you didn't finish that glass of water from last night, don't dump it. Water plants with it.

SB: Good advice, Professor. Especially about the left over water. I know so many times, we just dump it down the drain, but using it to water a house or out door plant is a great idea.
PS: Yes, it is easy to forget, but if we make it a habit to do the mentioned, it will come to us as second nature.

SB: Do you have any plans for Earth Day?
PS: As Herbology professor, you can probably already guess. I like to plant trees. They are the source of providing oxygen and clean air.

SB: I know you're busy preparing for your next class, so I wont keep you longer. Thank you so much for speaking with me.
PS: No need to thank! I'm always willing to help out a student.

There are many ways we can help better our environment, from simple things as picking up trash to throw away when seeing it on the ground, to recycling, to planting trees. The planets protection lies with us. We only have one place to live, lets keep it clean and green!

That's all for this month's Chatting with. This is Serenity Black Signing off! Until next time!
