Dear Slythies,
I've been interested in muggle literature lately & to be frank, I've fallen across some amazingly exciting novels by the one & only Sidney Sheldon. The first book I randomly fell across, was called The Other Side of Midnight , written by this wickedly talent man.
If you're a fan of thrillers & stories full of action, angst & romance, then get your hands on this book as soon as you can. It's set around World War II & takes you through Europe & America along with three characters: Larry Douglas, Noelle Page & Catherine Alexander. As you may have guessed, this is a developed love triangle full of human feelings such as lust, rage, desire, love & broken promises. It has the strokes of crime & dirty work in each chapter. I can assure you that once you pick up this book, putting it down is a really difficult task. Chapter after chapter brings suspense & excitement.
Whenever I want to measure the greatness of a book, I compare it to Harry Potter. It has become a standard for me. In this case, I can strongly say that one of the tremendous features of this book is the development of characters during the chapters just like Harry's character, for instance, which changed throughout each book, let alone the series. You can witness innocence turning into guilt, love shifting to hate, naiveness replaced with extreme cunningness & many other changes.
A small note would be worthy of remembering. This novel does have a few graphic scenes so I don't recommend it to readers under the age of 15.
Other than that, I must admit that this book had me pinned to my seat for hours & it's possibly my favorite book after Harry Potter.
Go & start reading !
Love,
~Shadow
