Dear Pansy
By deidra
Dear Pansy,
How do you keep your skin so flawless? I have such a hard time what with all the stress and sleuthing I do, and I just need some tips on keeping up with the crowd.
Sincerely yours,
Rita Skeeter
Dear Ms. Skeeter,
Goodness! You have no idea how honored and excited I am to receive an owl from my favorite journalist. I am a huge admirer of your work! Now, onto skin care. It is a lot of work trying to keep myself looking fabulous with all of the hard work I do. Good skin is a reflection of a healthy mind, body, and soul. The trick is to make sure that you take time to rest and relax. When I start getting too stressed, I go shopping. New shoes always brighten my spirits. A positive attitude just gives you a wonderful glow. If your mind and soul are happy, your skin will show it. Another part to keeping your body healthy (which will reflect on your skin), is keeping your body healthy. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, drink tons of water, and I find that a cup of hot tea before bed not only helps me sleep, but makes me feel loads better.
Now, for my actual skin care regime. First and foremost; moisturize. Find a good moisturizer and use it often. Secondly, make sure you wash your face to keep your pores clean. I always wash my face in the morning before I put anything on it and before bed. A good face wash and moisturizer are key here.
If all else fails, invest in a good concealer and bronzer to fake the ‘healthy glow' on your bad days. Best of luck, Ms. Skeeter!
All my love and admiration,
Pansy
Oh lovely Pansy,
I've been having so much trouble lately. Spring marks my last few months in community college. I have to transfer in the fall and I am terrified. Do you think there will be some awesome Slythies there to help me get through it all? Or will the Ravenclaws of the world just make me feel dumb? I hate that I'm starting to feel less confident in the subject I chose to major in, but I think it's too late to switch. Ugh.
On a more girly note, I have a question for you. What do you think about long distance relationships? Since I'm leaving so soon, I'm starting to realize how utterly pointless it is to try to find a guy that strikes my fancy right now. I mean, I'll just be gone in a few months, right? Should I just avoid guys altogether or give one a chance if they come around?
Help, please!
Much love,
Clinging to my Bed
Dear Clinging to my Bed,
I'm going to borrow from a very wonderful muggle woman, Eleanor Roosevelt, and say that “only you can make yourself feel inferior.” The Ravenclaws will only make you feel stupid if you let them; so don't let them. For all our faults, Slytherin house sticks together. I'm sure that you'll find some of us at your new college. It is never too late to switch your major. You don't want to get stuck in a career you hate, do you? Only do something you love, or don't do it. You can do this, dearheart. I believe in you.
As for the issue of boys; don't avoid them, but don't actively look. If a boy is interested in you, just let him know that you are leaving soon, but you wouldn't mind going on a couple of casual dates. Then just see what happens. I've always said that it is when you aren't looking that someone wonderful comes into your life. If it doesn't happen, then it just means that you can focus on your studies. Just see what happens, alright?
Best of luck at your new school!
Love,
Pansy
Dear Pansy...
I really don't know what I'm doing, sending you a request for advice. I think you might be the only one to help me though. I've been having issues with students here at Hogwarts wanting follow me around, to assist me in anyway they can. From stories I've heard, you were popularly known...though maybe that was more of infamy. Either way, what do you advise doing?
Sincerely,
A popular kid in need of help.
Dear Popular Kid,
Well of course they would follow you around and want to help you! You are a Slytherin, are you not? We Slytherins are very much deserving of respect and admiration and it is your duty to let them. You are worthy of all they have to give to you. You wouldn't want to hurt their tender feelings by refusing them, would you? It is the job of popular folk like us to let other serve us. Do this job well and it will be very rewarding.
Stay fabulous!
Love,
Pansy
Dear Pansy,
Love bites, and I don't know how to tame it! I find myself torn between the love of my life and my love for Slytherin! You see, my boyfriend is a Ravenclaw. (What can I say? I love a boy with brains.) Everything had been going fantastic, but lately, the competition between the Snakes and the Eagles is creating some tension between us. We got into an argument last night, and I just don't know what to do!
We've always been competitive with each other, but yesterday he approached me about backing off the contests and the homework. As if! He said Ravenclaw needs to win the House Cup this year, but he is so wrong! We all know Slytherin is the most deserving of the Cup. We've been cheated out of it far too many times. I told him just that, and he stormed off. I haven't spoken to him since, and I don't know what I'll say when I do see him. I really like him, but I love my house, too, and I just wish he would understand that. Pansy, what do I do?
Sincerely,
In Love with a Birdbrain
Dear In Love with a Birdbrain,
Sadly, we Slytherins do seem to have a bit of an attraction to many Ravenclaws. They are intelligent and combined with our cunning and cleverness, it can make for some very passionate and volatile combinations. Now, you will probably always disagree on who should win, but what you can do is agree that you both love your houses dearly. That being said, if he continues to be rude and try to insist that Ravenclaw should win, then it may be time to let him fly the nest. Really, the classy thing to do is to just avoid the topic. If he can't be classy, then he isn't worth it. Slytherins only deserve the very best partners. He needs to step it up and start acting better if he wants to keep a sexy snake like yourself.
Stay Fabulous!
Love,
Pansy
Dear Pansy,
Why is the rum gone?
-Dracarys.
Dear Dracarys,
Oh, I see how it is. You've got time to send a ridiculous owl to Pansy, but not to your best friend informing her of where you've gotten off to? The rum is gone because I drank it when I was told you had disappeared, wench. Your replacement is far nicer. She would make sure she told me where she was going rather than worry me. Now, I'll be off with my new friend, Lorelai. You can just stay gone if you're going to treat me like this.
-Maeve
Dear Dracarys,
Sorry about that. She intercepted the owl before I could stop her. Maeve misses you terribly, even if she won't admit it. She did drink all that rum to try and drown her sorrows. You should write to her before she gets any more distraught. Maeve loves you, you know.
Best of luck.
Love,
Pansy
